Who we are

The Committee on Young People's Work (COYPW) is the youth organization of the Diocese of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic of the Reformed Episcopal Church.

Our Mission is dedicated to helping the parishes and families of the diocese raise children who love Jesus Christ and his Church, facilitating the building of friendships that will last a lifetime, and fostering a devotion among the youth to the Anglican way.

Retreats

Multiple events are held throughout the year to allow our youth to come together in various locations.

Our main retreat is held in late July at Rock Mountain Bible Camp near Scranton, PA. This is a week long event that is open to all children in grades 2nd thru 12th. The youth are split up between Junior camp (grades 2nd-6th) and Senior camp (grades 7th-12th).

Winter camp is held in late January or Early February at Rock Mountain Bible Camp as well. It runs from Friday evening til Sunday afternoon. This camp is open to only grades 6th thru 12th.

Two lock-ins are held midway between Summer and Winter camp. Oktoberfest is held towards the end of October and Spring Fest occurs in April. Locations for these lock-ins rotate between the churches within our diocese and are usually from Friday evening til Saturday. Some may extend into Sunday based off of number of attendees and availability of the church hosting.

Leadership

Our current camp director is Deacon Billy Jenkins. He has been helping form the spiritual lives of our youth for the last 10 years. He started attending the camps 20 years ago as a camper and once he 'aged out' he returned as a counselor. This transitioned him into taking over as the camp director.

He is supported by a wonderful team of counselors that come from parishes all over the diocese and has brought in some amazing speakers to help guide our youth.
